Celsius and Beyond



Celsius and Beyond is a science education center offering science-enrichment programs for children attending grades K–8 in San Francisco. Our program includes topics that are rarely included in San Francisco elementary schools’ curriculum: chemistry, physics, engineering, and cell biology. Kids learn about science and the world around them in a fun and interactive “hands-on” manner. Making science fun stimulates children’s curiosity, fosters creativity, and develops critical thinking.

Our goal is for kids to develop a lifetime passion for science and choose a science-related career. Research shows that children who have developed an interest in science by the end of elementary school are more likely to pursue advanced science courses in high school or college. Such education has shown to be an indicator of career success and achievement. More than 50% of CEOs of the Fortune 100 companies have a strong technical or science academic background.

Celsius and Beyond’s programs are developed in partnership with the San Francisco State University Engineering Department and the Weitzman Institute of Science, located in Israel.
